Taking the Romance Indoors During the Winter

by Robin Forbes

Here's three ways to beat the winter evening blues, keep warm and have an interesting and romantic night indoors, at home with your boyfriend.

1. Double Bubble Bath

What you'll need:

- 1 bath tub filled with hot water, (but not too hot).

- A nice bottle of bubble bath liquid, bubble bath gel balls or those bath bombs

- Enough tea lights or decorative candles to decorate the bathroom. Arrange the candles or tea lights on the bathroom sink, the toilet tank, and carefully around the bathtub ledges where suitable.

- Special bath soaps to lather each other up.

- Clean dry towels on the towel rack.

- A bathrobe to slip into afterwards would be a nice touch.

- A nice refreshing hot cup of tea if you like tea, possibly spiked with your favorite liqueur, (Tia Maria is a good choice for tea.). Or a glass of your best wine, Champagne or sparkling wine if you're celebrating...

- And last but not least you'll need your boyfriend and yourself. Lead him into the bathroom, help each other undress, climb into the hot bubble bath and enjoy!

Snuggling Up In Front of the Fireplace - Whether You Have One or Not...

Snuggling up with your honey in front of the fireplace is always a nice way to begin an evening of winter romance.

A nice hot special drink is always welcome in my mind.

Books if you're into reading could be an optional prop - although I think it would be far better to keep the books strictly as props if you've got it in your mind to move on to something more than just cuddling up to each other.

No fireplace? No problem... Use an artificial fireplace or artificial logs. Can't find that or doing this idea on the spur of the moment? Build a faux fire place with log fire out of cardboard and pretend for a moment that you have a real fire place.

That should be good for at least a laugh and a snuggle.

3. Double Feature Movie Theme Night

If you don't have enough time in the evening then one movie is enough. The point is to have a fun night at home and see something that you probably wouldn't currently get to see playing in a movie theatre.

You'll need some popcorn and soda, or your favorite movie theatre snacks. You'll also need a couple of good movies. And you'll need to give your boyfriend a ticket for the double feature show.

Possible Themes: - Classic movie night. - Campy movie night. - 80's movie night. - Scary movie night. - Romance movie night. - Gay icons movie night. - Musicals movie night - Action movie night. Etc...

Want to take it a step further? Try dressing up as your favorite characters from the movies you've chosen.

Turn off your cell phones, answering machines, doorbell and any other distractions. Adjust the lights. Cuddle up with your boyfriend, you're at home there's no need to sit in separate seats. And enjoy the shows.

Did someone mention turning this into a "triple-feature"?...
