Hi & Welcome to my site! Hopefully you've poked around the site a bit...
As I write this page it's over three years since the launch of this website. That's an important milestone that many website owners don't ever meet!
Over the past 3 years, thousands of gay men have come to this site and devoured the articles and tips on gay dating. That's pretty exciting for me as it confirms my theory that this is a much needed site - so it's going to stay around for a while; a long while.
So how did this project start?
A funny thing happened one day... I was searching for information and brainstorming for some dating articles on one of my other websites. On a whim, I wondered if there were any good articles or tips for gays. Even though I'm a gay guy who met a number of great guys on the Internet, including one whom I lived with for four years it just hadn't occurred to me to look for such stuff.
Well, as it turned out my search was in vain, all I was coming up with were sites that had links to gay dating services. Nothing wrong with that, (I'm featuring gay dating services on this site too.). No, the problem was I just wasn't finding any tips and articles. Yeah, I know match.com has some great articles by gay writers, so does Planet Out - wasn't looking for those...
Anyway to cut a long story short; once again on a whim - I typed in GayDatingTips.com, surely they would have some of what I was looking for. Nope, because it didn't exist and it wasn't registered! So, with the consultation of my partner, (of four years, who I met through an online personal ad) we became partners again, only this time in the business sense.
After some more research, we both felt that a. there was a need for such a site and b. that I actually had some experience in this area that a lot of other gay guys would find helpful. And lastly, I tend to write in a way and about topics that everyone can understand and enjoys reading.
If you've read this far, by now you've realized that this ain't your ordinary "about us" page. There's an understatement!
What else can I say "about us"? There's myself, Robin I live in Beautiful, Victoria, (City of Gardens) British Columbia, Canada.
There's Ian; my adorable friend, lover and partner, who still believes in my crazy Internet projects, (such as this one) and he puts his money on the table when he thinks I'm on the right track. He also helps out in some of the editing. If you see any errors - they're all mine.
There's also my family, who although they don't usually get directly involved in this or any of my other projects - they definitely help to make it possible for me to do so.
